Alan Pardew "disappointed" by Liverpool defeat

Alan Pardew admits that Liverpool were good value for their 2-1 victory over his Crystal Palace side in their FA Cup fifth-round tie at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has admitted that his side made life "too easy" for Liverpool during their FA Cup fifth-round defeat.

The Reds bossed the majority of the game, although they found themselves a goal behind with 16 minutes played when Fraizer Campbell lashed the ball beyond Simon Mignolet.

Palace struggled to get a grip on proceedings despite an early lead, and Liverpool eventually progressed through with a rather comfortable 2-1 win at Selhurst Park.

"I'm a little disappointed that we didn't play better today," Pardew is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "I thought Liverpool deserved to win and they had a bit more control than I would've liked.

"It was too easy for them at times and we need to correct that next time we play them. They have great technical players, we chased as hard as possible but we came up against a team that we need to learn from."

Palace will look to bounce back from today's loss when they take on Arsenal in the Premier League next weekend.
