Aaron Martin 'frustrated by Coventry City defeat'

Aaron Martin has admitted that he was left frustrated after Coventry City failed to pick up at least a draw in their League One clash with Barnsley at Oakwell.

A solitary George Waring header proved enough for the Tykes to take victory, which leaves the Sky Blues perilously close to the relegation zone.

However, Martin believes that Coventry played well enough to earn something from the game.

"It was so frustrating that their goal came from a set piece," Martin told the club's official website. "We had the better chances throughout the game so we're disappointed.

"We've been talking about set-plays all week so as I said conceding from one is so frustrating. The conditions tonight were very difficult to be honest, the wind in the first-half was so hard to play in but we've got to do better.

"I think we've been playing well of late but not picking up the results. We need more consistency and hard-work to get us up the table."

New Coventry boss Tony Mowbray is set to take charge of City's game against Port Vale on Saturday.
