The New England Revolution will visit Gillette Stadium on Saturday for their latest MLS fixture against the Columbus Crew.
Last time out, the home side recorded a 1-1 draw against Toronto FC, while the visiting team suffered their 12th defeat of the regular season.
Match preview
After failing to reach the quarter-finals of the Leagues Cup, the Columbus Crew avoided consecutive losses in the league for the first time this season last weekend.
The Crew battled to a 1-1 draw against Toronto in their last outing through the effort of Jules-Anthony Vilsaint, who rescued a point for Wilfried Nancy’s team in the 77th minute.
That said, their home form is a source of inspiration for Nancy’s men, as they have won four of their last five league matches in front of their supporters.
They also showed their potency in front of goal in those games, scoring eight times, with at least two goals recorded in three of those four fixtures.
With only eight regular-season games to be played, the home side currently sit sixth in the Eastern Conference standings with 45 points, with a game in hand on four of the five teams above them.
The Black and Gold also have the better of Sunday’s opponents, having won four of their last five head-to-head meetings, with an aggregate score of 12-2 in that period.
Meanwhile, New England are currently enduring a miserable run, recording only a solitary victory in 11 fixtures across all competitions.
Before their 2-0 defeat at the hands of Los Angeles FC, the Revs recorded a rare triumph against DC United for the first time since June 25.
That loss denied them a chance to equal their longest winning run in their territory, and it leaves them 11th in the East, two places and 11 points adrift of the wild-card round.
And with three games without a victory on the road, the away side will have their work cut out on Sunday.

For the visiting side, Ignatius Ganago and Leonardo Campana partnered in attack for the visitors, and they are likely to be paired up front once again.
Goalkeeper Matt Turner is expected to man the goal again, while Mamadou Fofana and Brayan Ceballos should play ahead of him in central defence.

We say: Columbus Crew 2-1 New England Revolution
The home side are unbeaten in three games in all competitions, recording two wins and a draw. As the Crew have won six of their last seven games on their own patch, the home fans should expect a narrow 2-1 victory.
