Shanghai Shenhua claim Nicolas Anelka deal agreed

Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua have announced that they have reached an agreement to sign Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka.

The 32-year-old, who recently handed in a transfer request at Stamford Bridge, is expected to travel to China later this week to finalise a deal.

"We have agreed on all the contract details and we are only waiting for him to sign it," said club official Ma Yue.

Earlier today Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger revealed that he would not be re-signing Anelka.
