Report: Chelsea line up Daniele De Rossi bid

Chelsea have reportedly prepared a £10m bid for Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi.

Blues manager Jose Mourinho is believed to be a long-term admirer of the tough-tackling Italian international, who came through to ranks at the Stadio Olimpico, making his debut in 2001.

The 30-year-old's future has been the subject of debate in recent weeks after enduring a disappointing season which was affected by a falling-out with former coach Zdenek Zeman.

According to The Mirror, the West Londoners failed with an opening offer of £8.5m, but will improve their bid in order to land De Rossi.

Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini is said to be in London to negotiate a deal for Chelsea's young Brazilian full-back Wallace.
