Chelsea 'make decision' over Alexander Isak pursuit amid Liverpool transfer link

Liverpool transfer boost? PL club 'make decision' over Alexander Isak chase

Chelsea are reportedly not in the race to sign Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak

The 25-year-old striker has been outstanding for the Magpies in the past few seasons, but he is open to leaving the club this summer.

Chelsea have been reportedly linked with a move for Isak, but Kaveh Solhekol has poured cold water on the rumours. The Sky Sports journalist claims that the Blues are not in the race for the Magpies striker, and they have complete faith in the players they have at their disposal for the Premier League and Champions League next season.

The Blues have bolstered their forward department this summer by signing Liam Delap from Ipswich Town, but they could still look to add a new striker, especially if Nicolas Jackson leaves the club.

Isak has reportedly informed Newcastle that he wants to explore his option after missing their pre-season tour of Asia.

Chelsea's decision on Isak is a major boost for Liverpool

Newcastle are determined to keep Isak at St James' Park. The Swedish striker has three years remaining on his current deal, but a potential move to Liverpool cannot be completely ruled out.

Despite signing Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt for an initial £69m, Liverpool are still reportedly looking to add Isak to their ranks.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, the Reds are readying a British record offer to sign the striker, who scored 27 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions for the Magpies last season.

The decision from Chelsea will come as a major boost for Liverpool, as there are not many sides in the Premier League who can afford him.

Manchester City have the funds to move for Isak, but that looks unlikely given Erling Haaland's contract runs until 2034.

Liverpool will become the new Galactico if they sign Isak

Arne Slot already inherited a strong squad from Jurgen Klopp and won the league title in his first season without making any significant additions to the side.

This summer, it is a different story. The Reds have splashed £300m already on seven new players, including big-money signings like Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong.

On top of it, if the Reds add Isak by spending over £100m, they will have a galaxy of stars in their squad.

Isak has scored 62 goals from 109 matches for Newcastle, and he is one of the most coveted strikers in world football at the moment.
