Leeds United have reportedly joined to race to sign Barcelona right-back Sergino Dest ahead of this summer's transfer window.

Leeds United have reportedly joined to race to sign Barcelona right-back Sergino Dest this summer.

The 21-year-old USA international has made 18 appearances in all competitions for the Catalan giants this season, but he has struggled to nail down a regular place in Xavi's starting lineup.

According to TEAMtalk, Leeds have identified Dest as a potential target ahead of the 2022-23 campaign as they seek to bolster their defensive options and provide more competition for 30-year-old right-back Luke Ayling.

The report adds that the former Ajax full-back may be available for transfer this summer as he is currently not part of Xavi's long-term plans at Barca.

Chelsea, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Roma have also been credited with an interest in Dest, who is under contract at Camp Nou until June 2025.

Leeds boss Jesse Marsch is also eyeing another American star as the White are believed to be in pole position to sign Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Brenden Aaronson.
