Eddie Johnson 'announces Christian Pulisic to Chelsea on Instagram'

Former United States international Eddie Johnson has appeared to confirm that Christian Pulisic will join Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund.

The Blues have been closing in on the 20-year-old in recent days after seeing off rumoured interest from Liverpool and Arsenal.

Pulisic is out of contract at the Westfalenstadion at the end of next season and Dortmund are therefore looking to cash in, with the versatile attacker previously turning down the offer of a new contract.

A deal may have already been completed ahead of the transfer window opening on January 1, as ex-Fulham and Cardiff City striker Johnson took to Instagram to wish his compatriot well at Stamford Bridge.

Alongside a mocked-up image of Pulisic wearing a half-and-half Dortmund-Chelsea shirt, Johnson posted: "@cmpulisic so stoked for you lil bro great move can't wait to watch you alongside @hazardeden_10."

Dortmund are believed to value the 23-cap USA international at around £45m.
