Mark Hughes confirms "tentative" Victor Moses talks

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes confirms that the club have held "tentative" talks with Chelsea over a permanent deal for winger Victor Moses.

Mark Hughes has revealed that Stoke City have held "tentative" talks with Chelsea over a permanent deal for Victor Moses.

The winger spent the season on loan with the Potters before picking up an injury that is likely to rule him out for the rest of the season.

The manager told the Stoke Sentinel: "We've had tentative inquiries [with Chelsea] just to get an indication, but we have not been given a definitive one.

"The injury, I don't know if it helps or hinders our talks with Chelsea. It is something I would like to do, but it has to be right for us and, more importantly, for Chelsea and for Victor.

"It's difficult for him to come out and say he wants to leave Chelsea because he's a contracted player with them, but I know he's enjoyed it here. If Chelsea felt he needed to go out on loan again, he could come back here. So even if we weren't able to sign him as our own player, we can do that. That's up to Chelsea, but we would like to bring Victor if we can."

Moses has scored four goals in 23 appearances for Stoke this season.
