Paris Saint-Gemain have confirmed the arrival of goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier from Lille, in a move that could accelerate Gianluigi Donnarumma's potential exit from the club.
Les Parisiens' number one Donnarumma has been heavily linked with a departure all summer long, having now entered the last 12 months of his contract with the Ligue 1 and Champions League holders.
No fewer than three clubs are expected to submit offers for the 26-year-old, who failed to agree an extension with the capital club, and his potential long-term successor has now arrived at the Parc des Princes.
On Saturday evening, PSG announced the signing of Chevalier on a long-term agreement from Lille; he has signed a deal until 2030 and will wear the number 30 shirt in the French capital.
Speaking to the PSG website ahead of his unveiling, Chevalier said: "I am a kid that is living his dream. Ever since I was small I wanted to play at the very highest level.

"I would like to thank the Chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Luis Campos and the coach, Luis Enrique, all his coaching staff and everyone that worked hard to get me to Paris Saint-Germain. I’m really delighted to be here. I will wear this shirt with passion and ambition."
Meanwhile, president Al-Khelaifi made reference to Les Parisiens' long-term future as he reacted to Chevalier's arrival, adding: "Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to welcome Lucas Chevalier into our family.
"Lucas is one of the leading goalkeepers in France and Europe and a fantastic addition to our team - as we continue to build everything for the long-term based on the collective."
Chevalier was named the Ligue 1 Goalkeeper of the Year for the 2024-25 season after amassing 11 clean sheets from 34 matches, conceding just 36 goals as Les Dogues only missed out on Champions League football on goal difference.
The 23-year-old registered a total of 44 shut-outs in 127 appearances for the 2020-21 Ligue 1 champions, and he has been included in each of Didier Deschamps's last three France squads.
What next for Donnarumma after Chevalier PSG transfer?
While some clubs may wish to have two top-class goalkeepers competing for starts week in week out, PSG boss Luis Enrique supposedly wants an established number one and backup option in his ranks.
As a result, Donnarumma's exit is now seemingly just a matter of time, and the former AC Milan starlet is thought to be on the radar of all of Manchester United, Chelsea and Inter Milan.
All three interested parties have now been handed a huge green light to make their move thanks to Chevalier's signing, and PSG are not in a position to demand a hefty fee given his contract situation.
Expect the trio to accelerate their pursuits of Donnarumma now that Chevalier has been unveiled as a PSG player, and this saga has the potential to become one of the most fascinating transfer stories of the second half of the window.
