Marseille confirm "serious" Chelsea approach for Cesar Azpilicueta

Marseille have confirmed that Chelsea have expressed an interest in defender Cesar Azpilicueta.

The 22-year-old has been constantly linked with a move to the Champions League winners in recent weeks following their acquisition of the likes of Eden Hazard and Oscar.

"Chelsea have made a serious approach for Cesar," said Marseille president Vincent Labrune.

Reports have claimed that Blues boss Roberto Di Matteo will finish his summer spending once a new striker and defender has been added to the squad.
