Chelsea to replace Torres with Gomez?

Chelsea are reportedly pondering a move for Bayern Munich forward Mario Gomez as a possible replacement for struggling striker Fernando Torres.

The Spaniard, who moved to Stamford Bridge from Liverpool in January 2011, has failed to fulfil his £50m price tag, and reports have claimed that the Blues are ready to part ways with the 28-year-old.

German newspaper Bild reports that the West London outfit are considering a swoop for Bayern's out-of-favour hitman Gomez in the summer, according to The Express.

Gomez has slipped down the rankings behind Mario Mandzukic, who has netted 16 times for the Bundesliga outfit this season so far.
