Chelsea reportedly make a key decision over the future of Renato Veiga, who is currently on loan at Serie A giants Juventus.

Chelsea are reportedly prepared to listen to offers for defender Renato Veiga, who is currently on loan at Italian giants Juventus.

The Portugal international joined Chelsea in a €14m (£12m) deal from FC Basel last summer, signing a long-term deal until the summer of 2031.

However, Veiga struggled for regular playing time in the first half of the season, starting just one of his six Premier League appearances for Enzo Maresca's side.

Veiga was at least given starting opportunities in the Conference League, but he still left to complete a loan switch to Juventus in the winter transfer window.

The defender has since established himself as a prominent figure in the Juventus team, having started all eight of his Serie A appearances, including each of the club's last five league games.

Chelsea willing to listen to Veiga offers

Veiga is set to return to Chelsea at the end of the season, but there is considerable doubt as to whether he will still be at the club for the start of the 2025-26 campaign.

According to The Athletic, the Blues are likely to listen to offers for Veiga when the transfer window opens this summer.

Chelsea may view the upcoming window as a great opportunity to make a swift and sizeable profit on the money spent to sign Veiga last year.

Veiga could be open to a permanent departure after struggling to play regularly in his preferred position as a left-sided centre-back in the first half of the season.

There is no obvious pathway for Veiga to play in that position at Stamford Bridge, given the fact that Levi Colwill is Maresca's first-choice option to operate as the left central defender.

Veiga was often used as a left-back before he joined Juventus, but he has demonstrated his quality as a central defender during his time in Italy.

Disasi set to leave on permanent deal

Veiga is not the only loanee Chelsea are willing to offload, with Axel Disasi expected to depart on a permanent transfer once he completes his loan stint with Aston Villa.

The Villans do not have a purchase option or an obligation to buy the Frenchman, but Chelsea will still look to secure him a new permanent home this summer.

Disasi joined Unai Emery's side in the winter window after being restricted to just six Premier League appearances for Chelsea in the first half of the campaign.
