Team News: Gary Cahill back for Chelsea, Kevin De Bruyne in for Man City

Gary Cahill returns to the Chelsea starting XI as they welcome Manchester City to the Bridge.

Gary Cahill has returned to the Chelsea defence as they welcome Manchester City to the Bridge tonight.

Matt Miazga drops to the bench as Cahill comes back into the fold after a couple weeks out with a hip injury, while Thibaut Courtois is back between the sticks.

Willian is a surprise inclusion in the midfield after overcoming a late fitness test, replacing Oscar to feature alongside Willian and Pedro in support of lone striker Diego Costa, who returns from a three-match suspension.

For the visitors, Manuel Pellegrini makes two changes to the side that defeated West Bromwich Albion last time out as he switches to a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Sergio Aguero will lead the City line, with support from Jesus Navas, Samir Nasri and former Blues player Kevin De Bruyne, who makes his first return to Stamford Bridge in two years.

Fabian Delph drops to a defensive midfield role alongside the returning Yaya Toure, while an unchanged back four includes Aleksandar Kolarov, Eliaquim Mangala, Nicolas Otamendi and Pablo Zabaleta.

The fixture comes too soon for company Vincent Kompany and Raheem Sterling, both of whom fail to make the matchday squad.

Chelsea: Courtois; Azpilicueta, Cahill, Ivanovic, Baba Rahman; Mikel, Fabregas; Willian, Loftus-Cheek, Pedro; Diego Costa
Subs: Begovic, Miazga, Matic, Kenedy, Traore, Pato, Falcao

Manchester City: Hart; Kolarov, Mangala, Otamendi, Zabaleta; Toure, Fernandinho; Nasri, De Bruyne, Navas; Aguero
Subs: Caballero, Sagna, Demichelis, Fernando, Delph, Bony, Kelechi
