How Chelsea could line up against Brighton & Hove Albion

How Chelsea could line up against Brighton

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino should ring the changes for Saturday's friendly with Brighton & Hove Albion in Philadelphia as part of the Premier League Summer Series.

The Blues boss began his reign with a 5-0 thrashing of National League champions Wrexham on Wednesday, where the Chelsea lineup largely comprised academy products and a handful of recognisable first-teamers.

Goalkeepers Jamie Cumming and Lucas Bergstrom were among the young prospects to take part, but given the calibre of opposition on Saturday, Kepa Arrizabalaga might be recalled in between the sticks.

The same can be said of Thiago Silva in the backline, while former Brighton loanee Levi Colwill might earn some minutes too, pushing Trevoh Chalobah out of the side.

However, another ex-Seagulls defender in Marc Cucurella could lose out to Ben Chilwell on the left-hand side, while Malo Gusto holds the fort on the right until Reece James has fully recovered from illness.

Andrey Santos and Cesare Casadei lined up from the off against Wrexham, but Conor Gallagher and Enzo Fernandez may now be recalled, as Carney Chukwuemeka holds his place.

Having handed Nicolas Jackson his full debut in North Carolina, Pochettino may now bring in Christopher Nkunku for his first start, as Raheem Sterling and Ian Maatsen - who netted twice in Wednesday's win - support the Frenchman up top.

Chelsea possible starting lineup: Kepa; Gusto, Silva, Colwill, Chilwell; Gallagher, Fernandez, Chukwuemeka; Sterling, Nkunku, Maatsen
