Chelsea winger Willian states that his side's memorable 3-1 victory over hosts Manchester City in the Premier League was in part down to his teammates' mental strength.

Chelsea winger Willian has highlighted his side's mental toughness following the club's emphatic 3-1 away win over Manchester City in the Premier League.

The Blues continued to justify claims of being early title contenders this season after goals from Diego Costa, Willian and Eden Hazard saw Antonio Conte's side come from behind to earn all three points at the Etihad.

"It's always difficult to play here [at City], but we came with a great mentality to play this game," said Willian, according to the Daily Star.

"The first half was difficult, but in the second half we played more confidently. We did well with and without the ball, and we scored goals. That's always good for us.

"It was a great ball [for his goal], there was space and Diego made a great assist for me and I finished well."

Chelsea currently find themselves at the top of the pile in the league table, having collected 34 points from 14 games this campaign.
