Andre Villas-Boas: 'The goals will come for Torres'

Villas-Boas backs Torres for goals

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas believes that Fernando Torres only needs one goal for the striker to rediscover his scoring form.

Torres arguably produced his best performance for Chelsea in the 1-0 win over Sunderland on Saturday.

The Spaniard nearly ended his four-month league goal drought with an audacious scissor-kick that hit the bar before falling to Frank Lampard to put away. Villas-Boas has now said that the 27-year-old's confidence is improving.

"He's still not scoring but is ever so close to scoring, which is already good," said the Portuguese manager.

"Maybe a goal would help on the personal, inspiration level but we are not worried because he is doing well.

"He's very willing to change his fortune and I think the goals will come."

Torres joined Chelsea from Liverpool in a £50m move last January.
