Fernando Torres seeks discussions over future

Fernando Torres admits that he will hold talks with Chelsea regarding his future at the club.

Fernando Torres has admitted that he felt "lost" during large parts of last season.

The Spanish striker has struggled to find his trademark goalscoring form since joining Chelsea from Liverpool for a fee of £50m in January 2011.

That has led to him being dropped to the bench for the bigger matches, including the finals of the FA Cup and Champions League in recent weeks.

Speaking to Spanish journalist Guillem Balague after Chelsea's 4-3 victory on penalties over Bayern Munich last night, Torres confessed that he has been left disappointed by his failure to hold down a regular spot in the starting lineup.

"I've had to spend the final on the bench," said the 28-year-old. "It was a huge disappointment when I saw the lineup, perhaps the biggest in my life.

"This season I have felt things that I never had before. I've felt like [Chelsea] treated me in a way that I didn't expect.

"There's been many times when I've felt lost and I wasn't sure what to do. I felt like I didn't know where I belonged."

Torres went on to admit that he will seek talks over his future at Stamford Bridge in the near future.

"We've had a lot of talks and we'll talk about my future," he added. "The role I've had this season is not for me, nor is it the one I expected to play when I came here. I'm not comfortable.

"I want them to tell me what is going to happen in the future.

"I need the club to tell me what is going to happen and what sort of role I will have within the team."

Torres scored six goals in the Premier League last year.
