Terry will not attend court

Chelsea captain John Terry will not attend court to answer accusations that he racially abused Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand in October.

Terry's legal team informed the Crown Prosecution Service of his intentions earlier today.

They also confirmed that the England skipper had entered a plea of not guilty to the charge of racially aggravated public order offence.

The 31-year-old's case will be heard on Wednesday, February 1.
