Chelsea captain John Terry has warned their Premier League rivals that another slip-up could hand the Blues the title.
Jose Mourinho's side are currently five points clear at the top of the division and are unbeaten this term.
Despite the relatively early stage of the campaign, Terry thinks that their advantage could become unassailable should the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal drop more points.
The Mirror quotes him as saying: "You're just hoping when you're at the top and have a five point cushion - and six, seven, eight on certain teams - a couple of them slip up again and that increases to eight or nine.
"If that happens, it's a lot of points to give up early on. All we can do is keep winning and wait for those teams to slip up. You have to look at everyone, Man City, Man United, Arsenal and they are all conceding goals and that's because of the quality in the League - it is getting better, it's as simple as that.
"We are more attacking this year, but defensively we are now very solid. Everyone was questioning our defence early on in the season, but it's going to happen. There are so many good teams and individuals in the league, we are going to concede goals."
Mourinho's men travel to Crystal Palace after the international break.
