Chelsea captain John Terry has urged his teammates to take "responsibility" following their recent dismal run of results.
The Blues, who won the Champions League last season, were knocked out of the tournament at the group stage last night, despite securing a 6-1 win over Nordsjaelland at Stamford Bridge.
While new interim manager Rafael Benitez has taken the brunt of criticism for Chelsea's form, which has placed them 10 points behind league leaders Manchester United, Terry believes that it is the players that are not pulling their weight.
"Let's not beat around the bush," Terry wrote in yesterday's match programme. "No wins in six games is simply not good enough and, since I have been here, I have not experienced a run like this. We, as players, have to stand up and take responsibility. Stand up and stay together."
Chelsea travel to the North East to take on Sunderland this weekend.
