Jose Mourinho: 'Chelsea in strong position to win Premier League'

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho admits that his side remain strong favourites to win the Premier League title, with the end of the season now in sight.

Jose Mourinho has admitted that Chelsea will only have themselves to blame if they fail to go on and win the Premier League title this season.

The Blues opened up a six-point gap on nearest rivals Manchester City at the weekend with a 3-2 victory over Hull City at the KC Stadium.

Boasting a game in hand on the chasing pack, Mourinho admits that Chelsea find themselves in the "best position" they have been in all season with just nine games to go.

"We are in the best position since the beginning of the season," the Portuguese told the club's official website. "The maximum lead we had was eight points but when we had eight points we were speaking about 20 matches to go.

"Now we have six points with one match in hand and with 24 possible points for our opponents to win."

Following the two-week international break, Chelsea continue their title charge when they play host to Stoke City at Stamford Bridge.
