Jose Mourinho: 'I'll play the kids if poor form continues'

Jose Mourinho says that he will drop senior players in favour of youngsters if Chelsea's form does not improve.

Jose Mourinho has said that he will play youth-team players in the Chelsea first team if the club are unable to win any trophies this season.

Chelsea have won just two matches out of seven and sit in 14th in the Premier League table.

"If the season goes in one direction, that it becomes closed and we can't win, I will go just with the kids," Mourinho told reporters. "It makes no sense, when you have nothing to win, to play the older players.

"I'll play the players we're waiting for instead. I can arrive in a moment where I will look to the kids and say, 'Let's go. Non-stop.' I am ruthless.

"But at the moment everything is open. It's difficult to win the Premier League, but possible. It's difficult to win the Champions League, but possible. It's difficult to win the cups, but possible."

Chelsea's focus turns towards the Champions League tomorrow, where they travel to Porto.
