New Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo has insisted that he is paying no attention to speculation linking Pep Guardiola with his job.
Following a two-month interim spell in charge at the end of last season, Di Matteo was handed the manager's job at Stamford Bridge on a one-year contract last month.
The short nature of that contract has led some reports to claim that former Barcelona coach Guardiola is being lined up for the position when he completes his sabbatical from football next summer.
However, Di Matteo has told reporters that he is fully focused on doing his job to the best of his ability.
"There is no shadow, I feel no shadow," he said. "I have been in football all my life and you'll be judged by results.
"There has always been speculation I just do the job as best I can. People can say or write what they want."
Di Matteo guided the Blues to Champions League and FA Cup success last season.
