Chelsea 'have secret meeting with referee Mark Clattenburg after race row'

Chelsea 'hold talks with Clattenburg'

Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck has reportedly held a meeting with referee Mark Clattenburg in an attempt to clear the air following a racism row.

The 37-year-old was cleared of any action from the Football Association after Chelsea launched a complaint accusing the match official of racially abusing midfielder John Obi Mikel last month.

It is understood that Buck arrived at the National Football Centre at St George's Park yesterday to speak to Clattenburg and 15 other referees to make peace over the allegations and discussed the possibility of Clattenburg officiating a Chelsea game in the future, according to The Telegraph.

The match official will take charge of Southampton's Premier League clash against Norwich City tomorrow.
