Gary Cahill "determined" to turn around Chelsea fortunes

Gary Cahill vows to "tackle the problems head on" once he returns to action with Chelsea, following the club's slow start to the Premier League season.

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has insisted that he and his teammates are "determined" to get their Premier League campaign back on track.

The Blues have endured a torrid start to the season, having won just two of their opening eight games.

That barren run of form has left Chelsea down in a lowly position of 16th place, but Cahill - who will captain national side England this week - says that he is ready to put things right.

"We have had a very tough start but I have never been as determined to turn things around," he told reporters. "I am sure the other players are the same. When I get back to club football we will tackle the problems head on."

Chelsea face Aston Villa and West Ham United in their next two league outings following the international break.
