Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli has said that he has no regrets in rejecting a move to Chelsea.
The 23-year-old signed a new four-year contract at Craven Cottage after being linked with the Premier League giants throughout the summer.
"I want to improve and I want to get better. There was always that speculation with Chelsea but I didn't want to be one of those goalkeepers to sit on the bench," Bettinelli told GetWestLondon.
"I want to play football. I've gone on loan and played my games and that's the reason I'm here today. It'd have been silly for me to stop playing now and be a number three. It's something I never wanted.
"It was nice to be linked with Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in the world, but for me, this is the place for me."
Bettinelli has made 49 appearances for the Lilywhites since making his debut last season. He previously spent time on loan at Dartford and Accrington Stanley.
