Marcos Alonso says that he and his Chelsea teammates are unconcerned by the reports surrounding manager Antonio Conte.

Marcos Alonso has insisted that the Chelsea players have not been affected by the rumours surrounding Antonio Conte.

During a three-game winless run in all competitions, a report emerged claiming that some members of the squad are unhappy with the manager's methods.

The Italian coach was rumoured to be considering quitting his job at Stamford Bridge in the summer, but ended up signing a new two-year contract.

Since securing three wins on the trot, the Chelsea camp are stronger than ever, according to Alonso.

The Spaniard told the London Evening Standard: "We have come together stronger as a group. In any difficult moments, it is always good for the team when we fight and work together. That's what we have done over the last few weeks.

"As for [the rumours about Conte], these things always happen. There are people around trying to destabilise, trying to make things not go easy for us, but we have to focus on training, perform in games - and that's all that matters at the end of the season."

The West London outfit will go head to head with Roma at the Stadio Olimpico this evening in a Champions League group match.
