Derby County draw Chelsea in League Cup quarter-finals

Derby County will host Premier League leaders Chelsea in the quarter-finals of the League Cup.

Premier League leaders Chelsea have been given a trip to Derby County in the draw for the League Cup quarter-finals.

Jose Mourinho's side, who struggled past Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday night, have avoided top-flight opposition for a third time in this season's competition in being handed the tie in the East Midlands.

Bournemouth's reward for beating West Bromwich Albion is a home match against Liverpool, while League One club Sheffield United will host Southampton.

The other contest in the last eight will see Tottenham Hotspur face Newcastle United, who stunned holders Manchester City on Wednesday night.

The four fixtures will take place on December 16 and December 17.
