Chelsea's Antonio Rudiger eyes EFL Cup success

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger urges his teammates to aim for League Cup glory because it is the fastest route to silverware.

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has urged his teammates to go on and win the EFL Cup following their 2-1 victory over managerless Everton in round four.

The Germany international, who scored his first goal for the club in the win against the Toffees, said that he is keen to go the distance in the competition because it is the fastest route to silverware this season.

"You can win a trophy, so you have to be motivated. It was a big chance as well for young players like [Ethan] Ampadu, [Charly] Musonda and Kenedy," the official Chelsea website quotes Rudiger as saying.

"Everyone has to be motivated and for our club this is the fastest way to win something, so we have to go for it."

Chelsea will take on Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge in the quarter-finals.
