Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Chelsea

Liverpool injury, suspension list vs. Chelsea

Liverpool will be handed the Premier League trophy for the first time on Wednesday night after they face Chelsea in their final home game of an unforgettable 2019-20 campaign.

Jurgen Klopp's side have won just three of their seven outings since the restart, including a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal last time out, but wrapped up the title in record time and will finally get to lift the English top-flight crown for the first time since 1990.

Liverpool did surrender their perfect home record in their last Anfield match, though, and need a win over their Champions League-chasing visitors to equal the record for most home points in a 38-game season.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

James Milner

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: July 22 (vs. Chelsea)

Klopp said last week that James Milner should be "pretty safe" for the Chelsea game, having been nursing a hamstring injury ever since the first game back after lockdown.

Jordan Henderson

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Jordan Henderson will lift the trophy after this match, but he will play no part in the game itself having been ruled out for the remainder of the campaign with a knee injury.

Joel Matip

Status: Out Type of injury: Toe Possible return date: Unknown

Joel Matip will also miss the final two games of the campaign as a result of a toe injury he sustained in the Merseyside derby last month.

LIVERPOOL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Liverpool have no players suspended for this match.
