Chelsea team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers

Chelsea injury, suspension list vs. Wolves

Chelsea will be aiming to make it three straight wins in all competitions when they continue their Premier League campaign away to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday afternoon.

Mauricio Pochettino's side recorded a 2-0 victory over Sheffield United in the league last time out, with the result following successive defeats to Manchester United and Everton.

The Blues then booked their spot in the semi-finals of the EFL Cup on Tuesday evening courtesy of a penalty-shootout win over Newcastle United following a 1-1 draw.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with Wolves, who are 13th in the table, three points and three positions behind their opponents at Stamford Bridge.

Enzo Fernandez

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Illness Possible return date: December 24 (vs. Wolves)

Fernandez was replaced against Newcastle in the EFL Cup after suffering with illness, but the midfielder is expected to be back in the fold for this weekend's match.

Ben Chilwell

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: Unknown

Chilwell will again be absent this weekend, with the defender working his way back from a hamstring problem, but he is expected to return at some stage in January.

Wesley Fofana

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Fofana underwent an operation on an ACL injury over the summer, and the centre-back is not expected to be available for selection until next season.

Trevoh Chalobah

Status: Out Type of injury: Thigh Possible return date: Unknown

Chalobah has not made a single appearance for Chelsea this term due to a thigh injury, and he will again be unavailable for selection against Wolves.

Carney Chukwuemeka

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Chukwuemeka has suffered complications in his recovery from a knee injury, and the club have not set a potential return date for the midfielder.

Romeo Lavia

Status: Out Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: December 30 (vs. Luton Town)

Lavia is yet to make his debut for Chelsea due to an ankle problem, but there is a chance that the summer arrival could be available before the end of the month.

Lesley Ugochukwu

Status: Out Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: Unknown

Ugochukwu is currently on the sidelines with a muscular problem, and he is not expected to be available for Chelsea until next month at the earliest.

Reece James

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: Unknown

James picked up another severe hamstring problem in Chelsea's loss to Everton earlier this month, and the England international is facing another lengthy period on the sidelines.

Robert Sanchez

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: January 31 (vs. Liverpool)

Sanchez aggravated a knee problem during the recent loss to Everton, and the club's number one goalkeeper is not expected to be back until the end of next month.

Marc Cucurella

Status: Out Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: Unknown

Cucurella is currently recovering from a twisted ankle, with the versatile full-back definitely missing for Chelsea's festive fixtures.

Noni Madueke

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: December 24 (vs. Wolves)

Madueke was again absent against Newcastle due to a muscular problem, but there is a slight chance that he could be back in the squad for this game.
