Guy Luzon made to wait for first game as Charlton Athletic boss

New Charlton Athletic boss Guy Luzon is being made to wait for his debut as manager after the club encounters work permit issues.

New Charlton Athletic boss Guy Luzon will have to wait to make his debut as the head coach of the Addicks, after the club encountered work permit issues.

The Israeli replaces Bob Peeters as the new head coach and was anticipating being in charge of his club against Watford this weekend, but will instead have to watch from the stands.

"Following [Luzon's] appointment on Tuesday evening, the club had expected the required paperwork to be finalised in time for the head coach to take his place in the dugout at Vicarage Road," a club statement read on Charlton's official website.

"However, his work permit was not processed before the required deadline. First-team coach Damian Matthew and goalkeeping coach Ben Roberts will now take temporary charge of the side at Watford.

"It is expected that Luzon will receive his work permit next week and make his debut as Addicks boss at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday."

The Addicks remain 14th in the Championship and are eight points clear of the relegation zone following a nine-match winless run.
