Craig Gordon is set to become the latest player to pull out of the Scotland squad for their Nations League deciders.
The Celtic goalkeeper missed his team’s goalless draw with Livingston on Sunday after being injured during the midweek victory over RB Leipzig.
And Hoops manager Brendan Rodgers does not expect the 35-year-old to make the double-header against Albania and Israel.
Rodgers said: “I don’t think he’ll be fit for Scotland. He did well to get through the game with his knee and then got an injury to his hip.
“We’ll assess him over the week but he won’t be fit for Scotland.”
Third-choice goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin had already dropped out of the squad after being allowed to play in Sunderland’s Sky Bet League One clash with Wycombe. Kilmarnock’s Jamie MacDonald replaced him.
And three other players later pulled out on Saturday – Kilmarnock full-back Stephen O’Donnell (hamstring), Blackburn defender Charlie Mulgrew (rib) and Fulham midfielder Kevin McDonald (hamstring). All three missed their teams’ weekend matches.
Scotland face Albania in Shkoder on Saturday before hosting Israel three days later.
