Celtic take Nicolas Mezquida on trial

Scottish outfit Celtic have taken Uruguayan striker Nicolas Mezquida on trial with a view to a permanent contract.

The 21-year-old, who has previously played in Norway for Brann and Lillestrom, is currently available on a free transfer after leaving Centro Atletico Fenix in his home nation.

According to Sky Sports News, Hoops boss Neil Lennon is currently weighing up a move for the forward.

A number of European clubs are also believed to be interested in his services.
