Celtic rule out Van Dijk exit

Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell has reiterated that defender Virgil van Dijk will not be leaving the club this summer.

Van Dijk was left out of Celtic's squad for their match against Dundee on Sunday, leading to reports that he could be on his way out of the club before tonight's 11pm deadline.

However, manager Ronny Deila rubbished the speculation after the match, and Lawwell has now also insisted that the Dutchman will be staying at Celtic Park.

"Ronny was clear yesterday and that's the situation. Virgil will be staying and that's a boost for the club," Lawwell told reporters.

Lawwell also confirmed that the club's move for Serbian striker Stefan Scepovic has collapsed following a U-turn by the player.
