Old Firm occupy top two slots in SPFL

Celtic and Rangers are the top two in the Ladbrokes Premiership as Hearts' recent struggles continued.

The Hoops won 3-0 win at Hamilton, while Hearts have now picked up just one point from 12 after a 2-0 defeat at struggling St Mirren.

Midfielder Ryan Christie swept in Celtic's opener in the 13th minute and the points were secured when Accies midfielder Scott Martin's leg helped a Scott Sinclair header into his own net in the 66th minute.

Leigh Griffiths came off the bench for Brendan Rodgers' side and drilled in a third goal from a free-kick.

In Paisley, Adam Hammill's long-range effort at the start of the second half had the visitors on the back foot and the same player doubled the lead nine minutes later to give Oran Kearney's men a welcome win.

Rangers climbed to second with a 3-0 home win over Livingston, with Daniel Candeias opening the scoring in the 20th minute and Alfredo Morelos and Scott Arfield wrapped things up with goals inside the last seven minutes.

Motherwell moved further clear of trouble with a 3-0 home win over Aberdeen, with Danny Johnson (25 and 30) and David Turnbull (54) on target.

Bottom club Dundee hit back from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Hibernian.

Genseric Kusunga's first-minute own goal was added to at Easter Road by Ryan Porteous on the half hour – but Kenny Miller pulled a goal back in first half added-time and Paul McGowan leveled with a tidy turn and finish two minutes after the restart.

St Johnstone's match against Kilmarnock finished goalless.
