Scottish Premiership Roundup: Wins for Inverness, Motherwell

With Celtic's match against Partick Thistle postponed, six other Scottish Premiership teams were given the opportunity to steal a march on the league favourites.

There were wins for Motherwell and Inverness Caledonian Thistle, who will top the table after a 2-0 win away to new boys Hamilton Academical. First-half goals from Billy McKay and Ryan Christie were enough for Inverness.

Motherwell were made to work harder for their three points, grinding out a 1-0 win at home to St Mirren. The first half ended goalless at Fir Park, though the hosts managed to break the deadlock on 64 minutes through Lee Erwin.

Elsewhere, Dundee and Kilmarnock played out a 1-1 draw, with a Gary Hopkins penalty cancelled out by Kilmarnock's Craig Slater, ensuring a point apiece.
