Celtic manager Neil Lennon admits that it will be strange to adjust to life without Rangers on the eve of the new Scottish football season.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has said that he is intrigued to see what a new season will have to offer in Scottish football.

Lennon thinks that it will be difficult to adjust to life without major city rivals Rangers after their demotion to the Scottish Football League.

The Hoops boss said: "It's going to be strange not having that sort of nip and tuck. But we have to deal with that, experience that when it comes along. It's going to be a new experience for all of Scottish football, I suppose.

"We've got to get our noses in front and stay there, show a level of consistency that we showed for the previous two seasons.

"Last season is gone, it's history, this is a new start. We're trying to build a consistent team for the next few years, regardless of whether Rangers are there or not."

Celtic begin the defence of their Scottish Premier League title at home to Aberdeen on Saturday, August 4.
