John Guidetti eyes up Rangers semi-final

Celtic hitman John Guidetti has admitted that he would relish the opportunity to face Old Firm rivals Rangers in the semi-final of the Scottish League Cup.

The prospect of a first Glasgow derby since April 2012 is very much in the reckoning after both clubs came through their respective quarter-final clashes.

Guidetti - on loan from Manchester City - bagged a hat-trick as the Bhoys thumped 10-man Partick Thistle 6-0 at Parkhead on Wednesday night.

The 22-year-old, who has eight goals in as many games, says that Celtic's last-four opponents are "going down" regardless who they are paired with.

"It would be a fantastic game to be a part of, but come the semi-final, the 11 people standing opposite us are going down. This is how we feel every time we play," he told reporters.

"The Old Firm derby is a very special game. This is the fixture I used to wake up at 11.30 in the morning to watch when I was a small kid.

"It's fantastic. It's very spicy. You see it means a lot to people and the atmosphere is always amazing. You can even hear it through the television."

Dundee United and Aberdeen also made it through to the semi-finals.
