Celtic predicted XI vs. Bayern Munich: Possible starting lineup as Brendan Rodgers faces Jota decision in Champions League clash

Jota in, Kuhn out? How the Hoops could line up against Bayern on Tuesday night

Brendan Rodgers will have to hope the XI he picks on Tuesday can overturn their 2-1 deficit against Bayern Munich on Tuesday in the Champions League in order to progress to the round of 16.

Fortunately for the Scottish champions, they will only have to contend with the injury absence of winger James Forrest and midfielder Paulo Bernardo in Germany.

In light of Forrest's foot injury, the Bhoys could start Adam Idah up front, and he is almost certain to be flanked by Daizen Maeda, while Rodgers will have to decide between Jota and Nicolas-Gerrit Kuhn on the other side.

Jota was brought on when Celtic were trailing 2-0 against Bayern Munich in the first leg, so perhaps he will play from the start on Tuesday given his side are already behind.

The visitors are likely to start a similar midfield to the one that performed so well in the reverse fixture, with Callum McGregor, Arne Engels and Reo Hatate candidates to appear in the centre of the pitch.

Goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel may be shielded by centre-backs Cameron Carter-Vickers and Auston Trusty given both were selected against the Bavarians last week.

Alistair Johnston and Greg Taylor also started against the Bundesliga club at right-back and left-back respectively, and it would not be surprising if they retained their places in the XI.

Celtic possible starting lineup: Schmeichel; Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Trusty, Taylor; Hatate, McGregor, Engels; Maeda, Idah, Jota
