Graham Kavanagh wants to change Carlisle United style

Graham Kavanagh says that he wants his Carlisle United side to develop a passing style of play.

Carlisle United manager Graham Kavanagh has revealed that he wants to develop a passing style of play at the club.

The Cumbrian outfit have won just two of their last 10 games, with the latest coming against Boreham Wood in the FA Cup on Tuesday evening.

Kavanagh has admitted that his side should seek to play more attractive football.

"We didn't pass the ball well enough [against Boreham Wood] and that has to change. I am trying to change our style but it'll take time," he told BBC Radio Cumbria.

"We need to impose ourselves on matches and demand the ball and not get dragged into direct football.

"It's going to have to be a patient, long, training process. I'm in danger of sounding like a broken record but every single day matters as a footballer - that's how top players train."

Kavanagh replaced Greg Abbott as Carlisle boss in September.
