Gary Medel 'mulling return to Spain with Valencia'

Gary Medel could leave Cardiff City to return to Spain with Valencia next season, according to reports.

Cardiff City midfielder Gary Medel is reportedly weighing up a possible return to Spain with Valencia, only 12 months after moving to the Premier League.

The Chile captain, who was part of his country's 3-1 win in their opening World Cup game against Australia on Friday, joined the Bluebirds for a club-record fee of £11m last summer.

However, The Mirror claims that that is contemplating a switch back to La Liga, and Valencia are leading the race for the 26-year-old.

Los Che will face competition for Medel's signature from Malaga, but their own push to acquire the Chilean star could be hampered with doubts surrounding the future of owner Sheikh Abdullah Al-Thani.
