Liam Lawrence joins Cardiff on loan

Portsmouth captain Liam Lawrence has joined fellow Championship side Cardiff City on loan until the end of the season.

The agreement for the 30-year-old means that he would be able to play in any playoff games at the end of the campaign.

The Republic of Ireland international joined Pompey, who went into administration last month, from Stoke City in January 2011.

Cardiff have said that the midfielder is "unlikely" to feature in Saturday's match at West Ham United.
