Crystal Palace 3-2 Cardiff City

Palace 3-2 Cardiff

Glenn Murray scored a hat-trick as Crystal Palace came from behind to record a 3-2 win over Cardiff City at Selhurst Park this afternoon.

The Eagles emerged after the break 2-0 down after goals from Aron Gunnarsson and Don Cowie had put Cardiff firmly in control.

Icelandic midfielder Gunnarsson took advantage of a fortunate bounce off Palace defender Peter Ramage to slot past Julian Speroni on 13 minutes.

Just over 60 seconds later, Cowie extended City's lead with a fine volley after Craig Bellamy's initial effort was blocked.

However, Murray inspired a superb second-half comeback, starting with his first from the penalty spot on 52 minutes.

Andre Moritz's free kick was handled in the box, and Murray stepped up to convert past David Marshall.

The same two players combined for Palace's equaliser as Murray bundled in Moritz's deflected shot at the back post.

The turnaround was complete when Murray netted his second penalty of the game, once again getting the better of Marshall from 12 yards after Heidar Helguson rashly fouled Jonathan Parr in the area.
