Solskjaer named Cardiff boss

Cardiff City have confirmed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has agreed to become the club's new manager.

The announcement comes after the 40-year-old was pictured with club owner Vincent Tan at the Emirates Stadium on New Year's Day, where Cardiff lost 2-0 to Arsenal.

The former Manchester United striker, who has already met with his new squad at the club's training ground, leaves Molde after over three years with the Norwegian side.

Solskjaer replaces Malky Mackay as the Welsh outfit's new boss, after the Scot was sacked after Cardiff's 3-0 defeat to Southampton on Boxing Day.
