Shane Byrne departs Bury

Bury have confirmed that Shane Byrne has departed the League Two outfit by mutual consent.

The 20-year-old, who joined from Leicester City in 2012, previously made 16 appearances during a loan spell with the club in the 2011-2012 campaign.

However, illness and injury restricted Byrne to just four appearances last season, with his final outing coming against Rochdale in October.

It is understood that a number of Football League clubs are monitoring proceedings.
