Burnley's Michael Mellon joins Dundee on loan

"I am really pleased to be here and to get the deal done. I am hoping to play my part and help the club in the second part of the season," he told the club website.

"I'm striker, I want to score goals and that's what I want to do here. I can't wait to play in the Scottish Premiership and get out on the park."

Dundee manager Tony Docherty added: "I am absolutely delighted to get this deal over the line and to bring Michael to Dundee Football Club. He is a player of such high calibre and a player that we've been tracking for a long time.

"We are indebted to Burnley Football Club and our partnership with them for helping us bring Michael in when he had so many suitors. We are now seeing the fruits of the partnership with Burnley, as we now have three talented young players from them that I believe will help us this season. I also want to thank Tim and John for the part they played in this deal too.

"Michael is a fantastic footballer, he's not just a goal scorer, he's more than that. When you look at his all-round play, he's strong, he's quick, he's got great technical ability and his link-up play is very good.

"But his biggest quality is his knack of scoring goals, he has scored 15 goals in all competitions at Morecambe this season which is very impressive. So he is a brilliant addition to what is already a very talented squad here and he is another one that we want to nurture, develop and get the best out of."
