Bristol Rovers boss expects winger to join Middlesbrough

Bristol Rovers manager Mark McGhee has revealed that he expects winger Mustapha Carayol to join Championship side Middlesbrough.

Carayol is highly-rated at the Memorial Stadium, but after McGhee admitted last month that we would be willing to sell Carayol for the right place, he has revealed that Middlesbrough look favourites for his signature.

McGhee told BBC Radio Bristol: "We think we are very close to a deal, although it is not done yet."

The 22-year-old made 35 appearances for Bristol Rovers last season, scoring six goals.
