Mackail-Smith suffers injury setback

Brighton & Hove Albion forward Craig Mackail-Smith has suffered a setback in his recovery from a long-term injury.

The 29-year-old has been out of action since March due to problems with his Achilles and ankle.

Mackail-Smith was expected to be available for selection over the next couple of weeks after making two appearances for Brighton's Under-21 team, but a groin tear has delayed his comeback.

The striker is likely to return to training within a fortnight but a date has not been set for when he will be ready for competitive action.

Brighton continue their bid for a spot in the playoffs against Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
